Hosting Provider SmartApe
The company SmartApe was founded in 2012, and since then we have been implementing the latest and most modern systems to provide clients with reliable, functional, and high-performance services.
Security
The pricing grid on the company's website is divided into virtual servers on fast SSD and NVMe drives, as well as on classic HDDs. Renting a VPS/VDS with HDD drives will be cheaper. The cost of such a virtual server starts from 240 rub/month.
A virtual server on a fast SSD + NVMe will cost 345 rub/month (10 GB of free disk space). In general, the cost of a virtual server depends on the amount of resources the client will have at their disposal with the VPS/VDS rental. The Smart Ape website has a fairly extensive pricing grid, allowing you to choose a server with the required amount of RAM and disk space without overpaying for unused resources.
Pricing Policy
All virtual server tariffs include:
- 24/7 technical support;
- root access in Linux via SSH and RDP access in Windows with administrator rights;
- free assistance with migrating and setting up a website on the new hosting;
- a 10-day free trial without payment or entering card details to try the service;
- pre-configured VPS templates with ISPmanager, Hestia Control Panel panels, as well as LAMP, BitrixVM;
- free DNS hosting service;
Infrastructure
All data centers used by Smart Ape employ enterprise-level equipment: server SSD drives, NVMe storage, Intel Xeon, AMD EPYC, AMD Ryzen processors. Internet channels — up to 100 Gbit/s, internal network in the cloud data center — 20 Gbit/s.
Redundancy of all data center systems is implemented, including N+N network redundancy. For virtualization, KVM technology (for VPS) and Hyper-V (for the cloud data center) are used. For user isolation on virtual hosting,
Data Centers
The company Smart Ape places its equipment only in certified data centers that meet Tier III and higher requirements.
Current list of used data centers, certified to Tier III and Tier IV standards:
- DataPro I, DataPro II, DataPro III — in Moscow. DataPro II — the first data center in Eastern Europe corresponding to the Tier IV reliability level (in the process of Uptime Institute Tier IV Design, Uptime Institute Tier IV Facility certification).
- DataPro III, opened in 2022, is also certified to the Uptime Institute Tier IV standard.
- Host-Telecom — in the Czech Republic (Veselí nad Lužnicí), corresponds to Tier III level.
- Partner Group — in Israel (Rosh HaAyin), corresponds to Tier III level.
The data centers have backup power supply systems, 24/7 video surveillance, diesel generators, and other important components ensuring the operational state of server equipment in case of an emergency.
Advantages
- powerful Intel Xeon processors up to 3.60 GHz;
- server SSD drives for cache;
- money-back guarantee within 30 days if the service is not suitable;
- Hestia or ISPmanager control panels;
- guaranteed availability of 99.982%;
- KVM hardware virtualization with dedicated resources;
- dedicated 200 Mbit/s channel for each virtual server;
- unlimited traffic;
- server SSD + HDD drives assembled in a RAID array.
Disadvantages
- some users point to rather slow support response;
- server overload may be observed during peak hours;
- resource limitations — the provider advertises unlimited resources, but in VPS/VDS there are
- limitations on disk space, which can be increased for an additional fee
.
Technologies Used
The technology stack of Smart Ape is as follows:
- KVM virtualization.
- Hyper-V for the cloud data center.
- SSD and NVMe SSD drives to increase performance speed.
- Intel Xeon, AMD EPYC, AMD Ryzen processors.
- DDR4 RAM with error correction function.
- Cisco networking equipment.
- Server equipment from Hewlett-Packard and SuperMicro.
- DDoS protection using a multi-level filter system and internet channels with a bandwidth of over 1 Tbps from DDoS-Guard.
- CloudLinux for virtual hosting.
- Hestia and ISPmanager control panels for VPS.
- VNC technology for accessing the virtual server console in case of network service issues.
- For data storage, a hybrid storage system is used with a cache on Write Intensive SSDs and Enterprise HDDs, assembled in a RAID array. This ensures high data storage reliability and read/write speeds.
Customer Support
The hosting company's official website provides several communication channels: you can submit a request to a technical specialist via a contact phone number or email. Smart Ape's financial department also operates separately, handling all customer financial matters.
